Good news from the Kunstraad

Whereas we were waiting in suspense last Thursday, it turned out that there was good news. The Kunstraad has recommended that we be approved of our requested grant amount. This means we are a little closer to creating a stable base for our festival from 2025 to 2028.Β
Of course, there are still concerns, but we are delighted that the Kunstraad has given the green light. That this is done specifically by an organisation that sees what we do up close creates confidence.Β
From the Kunstraad advice:Β
“In the opinion of the Kunstraad, Jonge Harten occupies a unique place in the North Netherlands’ cultural system as a theatre festival specifically aimed at young people and young adults. ”
“He finds it positive that in the coming years Jonge Harten wants to focus more strongly on the festival experience of, among others, schoolchildren, because in his opinion this contributes strongly to the festival’s impact on this target group.”
“The Kunstraad believes that the festival strengthens the quality of life for young people in the city by offering them a place for critical reflection and a community of which they can be a part.”
“By making the festival not only for but with young people, it says it gives a voice to the new generation and helps them write a new story for the future. The Kunstraad finds this an inspiring and important objective with which the festival also contributes to future-proofing of the cultural sector.”
